Calcined diatomite serves as a high-performance filtration medium targeted at chemical processors, food and beverage manufacturers, and environmental safety managers. The product’s enhanced purity and adsorption capabilities cater to industries requiring reliable removal of impurities and contaminants in liquids, including edible oils and waste streams. Diatomite suppliers provide this calcined product to support processes demanding consistent filtration performance and environmental compliance. Users benefit from a non-toxic, additive-free mineral that aligns with stringent industrial standards and operational safety protocols.

Technical Characteristics and Quality Specifications

This calcined diatomite material undergoes high-temperature calcination to achieve superior thermal stability, low moisture content, and a consistent particle size distribution across five grading options. It exhibits strong chemical resistance except against hydrofluoric acid, maintaining functionality in harsh operational conditions. The light yellow granular composition facilitates physical osmotic adsorption, improving filtration efficiency and longevity. Packaging options including standard paper and polypropylene bags, as well as jumbo containers, support diverse logistics and inventory requirements from diatomite suppliers.

Industry Applications and Operational Value

The versatility of calcined diatomite extends through sectors such as chemical manufacturing, edible oil processing, beverage clarification, and environmental protection. It functions effectively in spill control by adsorbing oils and solvents while serving as a functional filler to enhance materials’ adsorption and stability. Integration into waste gas treatment systems and industrial liquid filtration lines demonstrates its role in maintaining product quality, regulatory compliance, and process reliability. This diatomite material thus contributes measurable improvements in operational efficiency and risk mitigation across multiple industrial workflows.

Product Advantages

Structural and Design Benefits of Calcined Diatomite

This diatomite material features a structurally uniform granular formation produced through controlled calcination, ensuring a consistent particle size crucial for system integration in filtration units. Its chemical inertness and thermal stability allow modular application in various industrial filtration designs without compromising performance. The absence of chemical additives reduces contamination risks and extends system maintenance intervals, facilitating smoother supply chain coordination from diatomite suppliers. Consequently, the product’s design aligns with engineering requirements for scalable, reliable filtration infrastructure.

Performance and Operational Value in Industrial Contexts

Calcined diatomite delivers enhanced filtration efficiency by physically adsorbing impurities while maintaining stability under high-temperature and chemically aggressive environments. Ease of use is supported by multiple particle size options, allowing customization for specific filtration parameters to optimize flow rates and contaminant removal. The environmentally friendly and non-toxic nature minimizes handling hazards and disposal concerns, thereby reducing operational risks. End users in manufacturing and environmental sectors receive reliable, high-quality diatomite materials that improve process control and comply with industrial standards.

High strength, low dust, high porosity, large adsorption capacity, fireproof, slip-resistant, non-toxic and harmless.

The product is a light yellow, clean, irregular, lightweight granule. It features high strength, low dust, high porosity, large adsorption capacity, fireproof and slip-resistant properties, and is non-toxic and harmless (to humans, animals, and plants). Its adsorption mechanism is physical osmotic adsorption. Except for hydrofluoric acid, it is chemically inert to all liquids, therefore it can absorb oils, acids, alkalis, water, and various solvents. Even when saturated, the particles do not dissolve or disperse.

This product contains no chemical additives and is a pure natural, environmentally friendly porous mineral adsorbent. It is mainly used in the storage, dispensing, and spill handling of chemicals to adsorb various oils, chemicals, and toxic, harmful, and odorous liquids, achieving deodorization and preventing accidents such as fires, personal injury, vehicle skidding, and environmental pollution that may result from leaks.

Product Application Scope:

(1) Safety and Security Industry: Primarily used in emergency rescue engineering for the absorption, control, and purification of oil spills, hazardous (strong) chemicals, and toxic and harmful liquids on the ground and solid surfaces (except hydrofluoric acid). Commonly known as "ground desiccant," "ground absorbent," "oil-absorbing sand," and "overflow absorbent." It is an essential first-aid absorbent for emergency response centers at all levels of government, road traffic accident rescue centers, waste disposal departments, and industrial and mining enterprises. Particularly suitable for the following departments and locations: oil refining, oil pressing, machinery repair and manufacturing, automobile repair, bus stations, railway stations, docks, ships, oil depots, gas stations, garages, aircraft hangars, laboratories, hazardous chemical warehouses, freight companies, cleaning companies, hardware and electromechanical stores, seafood processing plants, slaughterhouses, kitchens, production workshops, sanitation, fire fighting, and military use. Adsorbs natural and synthetic oils, fats, lubricating oils, hydrocarbons, pigments, various solvents, blood, vomit, and leachate from landfills. The product is available in five grades based on particle size: extra-fine, fine, medium, coarse, and extra-coarse. The appropriate grade is selected based on factors such as the smoothness of the surface (ground or solid) at the leak, environmental conditions (indoor or outdoor, wind speed), and the size of the leak area. Generally, fine-particle grade is suitable for smoother surfaces and indoor environments, and is also used for large-area leaks to create containment barriers. Coarse-particle grade is suitable for rougher surfaces or outdoor environments, while extra-coarse grade is suitable for roads and outdoor surfaces with strong winds. When using the product, apply it directly to the leaking liquid (material), ensuring complete coverage. Allow it to absorb for 5-10 minutes, then stir with a broom to ensure full contact with the leaking liquid, leaving it for another 5 minutes. Finally, collect the product with a broom or vacuum cleaner. Recycled products should be packaged, labeled, stored, landfilled, or incinerated according to local government regulations.

(2) Food Refrigeration: In the refrigeration and preservation of commercial and household food, fruits, and other agricultural products, diatomaceous earth granules, as a component of refrigeration preservatives, absorb ethylene gas and moisture released by agricultural products during refrigeration, thereby extending the shelf life of the food.

(3) Pet and Livestock Care: Because Shengzhou diatomaceous earth is a freshwater lacustrine sedimentary mineral, it is very suitable for making cat litter (pet bedding) to absorb pet excrement (such as urine and feces) to maintain fresh indoor air and a clean environment. Abroad, diatomaceous earth is one of the most commonly used non-agglomerated cat litter varieties because freshwater diatomaceous earth does not pose a threat to pets or public health safety, and the used cat litter can be recycled as a soil substrate for potted plants. In addition, diatomaceous earth absorbent granules are also used as bedding in animal pens for chickens, pigs, horses, cattle, sheep, and in the fur industry. Because granular diatomaceous earth is calcined at high temperatures and is a sterile product, it can not only inhibit parasites on livestock, but also control and absorb ammonia and moisture in livestock pens, thereby improving the livestock's growing environment and solving the common problem of foul-smelling air pollution in livestock farming. After use, the diatomaceous earth can be mixed with livestock excrement as organic fertilizer for planting crops.

(4) Waste gas treatment industry: Granular diatomaceous earth adsorbents can be used as waste oil absorbents (fillers) in household range hood oil collection boxes (slots), industrial waste gas adsorption devices, and oil mist purifiers.

(5) Agricultural chemical industry: Diatomaceous earth adsorbents can also be used as carriers for granular pesticides.
